Hi! I’m Cassidy Percoco, soon-to-be-published author of Regency Women’s Dress (1800-1830).
On this blog, you’ll find a lot of my original research into fashion and social history. This is what I do for fun, and while I should probably concentrate more on writing papers for conferences, I really just want to share what I learn with others any way that I can. Sewing is not something I do very frequently, though I try to get out to a few events a year in costume.
My first book is to be published in autumn 2015, just in time for Christmas! If you’re interested in the early nineteenth century, it’s the one for you: twenty-five patterns of antique women’s clothing, including two chemises, two corsets, two spencers, and an assortment of morning and evening dress. I’ve exhaustively researched the fashions of the era in order to accurately pinpoint the changes in American, French, and British dress – which can help you as a costumer, curator, or historian to date extant pieces and paintings.
